'A Week in the Life of... Accessories' with Energise Weddings - Day 5

Flower Power

A few days ago I went to my local craft store and bought a selection of artificial flowers.  Today I have been transforming these into tiaras, fascinators, brooches and corsages.

The lime green flowers became a headband and matching corsage.

The large white flower became 2 brooches or fascinators.

The small white and pink flowers became a fascinator.

The large pink flowers are still be transformed!  Keep an eye our facebook page for pictures.

'A Week in the life of... Accessories' with Energise Weddings - Day 3

Today I have been doing a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party themed photo shoot with my lovely Dad.

I think he thought the whole thing was a bit crazy (maybe it was?) but we had fun!

I was inspired by a lady called Anne Marie from Amphora Vintage and Antiques who I met at a Wedding Fayre in Durham.  Anne Marie used to work as a small business adviser and has a background in the arts.  She now runs a business selling vintage china and glasses. It wasn’t the busiest Wedding Fayre I have ever attended and we spent lots of time discussing marketing and playing around with our stalls which inevitably led to my jewellery being artistically displayed on her cups and saucers!

I’m quite pleased with the results and have several ideas for some more themed shoots, just hope my Dad is up for it!  Keep an eye on our facebook page for photos!

Tomorrow Energise Weddings will be promoting their fantastic new 'Animal Jewellery' & no it's not animal print it's for your gorgeous 4 legged friends to wear when attending your special day!

'A Week in the Life of... Accessories' with Energise Weddings - Day 1

Bespoke Design Service

At Energise Weddings we love nothing more than designing bespoke pieces for weddings and proms.  We pride ourselves on working with our clients to create the perfect jewellery and headwear to complement their dresses.

Jane’s Wedding
Jane had bought a stunning wedding dress – ivory with a beautiful champagne embroidered flower detailing.  It really was a beautiful and unusual dress but very hard to coordinate accessories with.  She had looked online and in a few shops but could not find anything she liked.

The colour of the detail on the dress naturally leant itself to gold jewellery, but Jane did not want gold, and silver would not have worked. So we designed an illusion necklace with ivory and sugar almond Swarovski pearls that picked out the colours on the dress perfectly.  We also made Jane a matching bracelet.

Jane liked the design of our Farrah comb but wanted something smaller.  We designed a comb with Swarovski crystals and the same Swarovski pearls as those used on the necklace and bracelet.

“Energise Weddings designed me a bespoke necklace, bracelet and hairpiece to my exact requirements. The result was just what I wanted and matched my gown perfectly. Highly recommended” – Jane.

Claire’s Wedding

When Claire got married she had a very  elegant halter neck dress with diamante clusters on the straps.  She had a bracelet as her something borrowed and had bought a crystal bouquet.

Her brief to us was to design a necklace that would tie together the detailing on her dress, her bouquet and her bracelet whilst suiting a halter neck – quite a challenge!  We came up with a dramatic cluster of Swarovski crystals and pearls.

“Beautiful and well designed jewellery. Great service. Would highly recommend for that personal touch.” - Claire

Claire also asked us to make necklaces and earrings for her 3 bridesmaids.

"I was one of three bridesmaids, we wore matching necklaces and earrings which complimented the dresses very well, simple yet elegant with sparkle. Jewellery carefully made to a quality standard and presented in a nice little box for safe keeping." – Jenna, Bridesmaid.

Tomorrow Energise Wedding's are focusing on the Prom season.  If you can't wait until then you can contact them via email or visit their website below:

'Credible & Incredible' Supplier of the Week - Energise Weddings

This week it is our pleasure to introduce a company who's exquisite designs ensured they reached the Semi-Finals of our Wedding Supplier Awards.  The beautiful Energise Weddings...

Where did the company name come from?
Energise started as a complimentary health business.  As well as offering various therapies we make sterling silver and gemstone jewellery.  Not only to they look beautiful these amazing stones are believed to have a positive effect on all sorts of physical, emotional and mental health issues.  We branched out into wedding jewellery and headwear when Sarah's now sister in law asked us to make the jewellery for her bridesmaids.  We have been wedding mad ever since!

How do you come up with your designs/ what influences you?
Our designs are inspired by our brides.  We take details about their theme, their dress(es) and hairstyle etc and design pieces to compliment.

Often brides come to us with a piece of jewelllery or a tiara that they want to wear and ask us to design something to tie that and their dress together.

We design several pieces for our bespoke clients so that they can pick the one they like most.  Our ready to wear collections are made from these extra designs.

What would you call your ‘style’?
I'd like to think that we do not have a set style and that we can create whatever a bride is looking for - to suit her style.

What is currently your favourite design?
On a recent shopping spree to make a white rose head comb some large white and black flowers caught our eye.  We made a dramatic headband from them which is very different form anything else we have made but is my current favourite piece.

Who inspires you?
With out a doubt our clients!  We love to hear all about their wedding plans and take great pride in creating the perfect jewellery and headwear for them.

If you could design a piece of jewellery for anyone in the world who would it be and what would you create?
We would both love to design pieces for stage shows - big and extravagant and too OTT for everyday life!

What is your greatest achievement?
We both tend to get totally absorbed in our current designs and always feel that they are our best work.

If you weren’t doing this job what do you think you would be doing?

We both have jobs in schools alongside our business - something we both enjoy but find very stressful.

How do you spend your time when you are not working?

We both have dogs and enjoy long walks with them and are keen gardeners.  Sue is a mother to a gorgeous 2 year old that takes up lots of her time.  Sarah is a bit of a shop-a-holic.

Do you have a current special offer for Ice the Cake readers?
Ice the Cake readers can get 10% off our ready to wear collections or bespoke design service - just enter code ITC11 at the checkout or mention Ice the Cake when contacting us.

Sarah & Sue thank you for an insight into your creative world.  We love your harmonious designs xx
