'A Week in the Life of... Accessories' with Energise Weddings - Day 1

Bespoke Design Service

At Energise Weddings we love nothing more than designing bespoke pieces for weddings and proms.  We pride ourselves on working with our clients to create the perfect jewellery and headwear to complement their dresses.

Jane’s Wedding
Jane had bought a stunning wedding dress – ivory with a beautiful champagne embroidered flower detailing.  It really was a beautiful and unusual dress but very hard to coordinate accessories with.  She had looked online and in a few shops but could not find anything she liked.

The colour of the detail on the dress naturally leant itself to gold jewellery, but Jane did not want gold, and silver would not have worked. So we designed an illusion necklace with ivory and sugar almond Swarovski pearls that picked out the colours on the dress perfectly.  We also made Jane a matching bracelet.

Jane liked the design of our Farrah comb but wanted something smaller.  We designed a comb with Swarovski crystals and the same Swarovski pearls as those used on the necklace and bracelet.

“Energise Weddings designed me a bespoke necklace, bracelet and hairpiece to my exact requirements. The result was just what I wanted and matched my gown perfectly. Highly recommended” – Jane.

Claire’s Wedding

When Claire got married she had a very  elegant halter neck dress with diamante clusters on the straps.  She had a bracelet as her something borrowed and had bought a crystal bouquet.

Her brief to us was to design a necklace that would tie together the detailing on her dress, her bouquet and her bracelet whilst suiting a halter neck – quite a challenge!  We came up with a dramatic cluster of Swarovski crystals and pearls.

“Beautiful and well designed jewellery. Great service. Would highly recommend for that personal touch.” - Claire

Claire also asked us to make necklaces and earrings for her 3 bridesmaids.

"I was one of three bridesmaids, we wore matching necklaces and earrings which complimented the dresses very well, simple yet elegant with sparkle. Jewellery carefully made to a quality standard and presented in a nice little box for safe keeping." – Jenna, Bridesmaid.

Tomorrow Energise Wedding's are focusing on the Prom season.  If you can't wait until then you can contact them via email or visit their website below:

Looking at the fun they had all we can say is that we are WELL JEL!...

"Ok, so it's the morning of Essex Fashion Week 8/4/2012. Yes you guessed it, it's Easter sunday, So while everyone's indulging in Easter eggs were making the 2.5 hour trip to CEME Venue where Essex Fashion Week is taking place.

We arrive at CEME In Essex to be greeted by security and the longest red carpet I have ever seen and the huge white board with all well known sponsors including: Amy Childs, HeartFM, Marriot, RM Magazine, boohoo, Cinderella Hair, Wags World, Kosho, Lifestyle 24/7,  Plus many more.

We entered the venue and it looked amazing with a huge white glowing catwalk for all the stunning models to take to and strut their thing!
As everyone was preparing for the opening of Essex Fashion Week. We met with Adam & Simon Ryan and the beautiful Danielle Bigaignon from WE BOP who showed us different areas of where we could set up our Candy Buffet & Candy Tree & colour coordinated pom pom trees, so we opted to set up in the VIP drinks & after party area.

The colour theme was black & silver so we have brought the colour & theme to our candy buffet table. Our flower table centre piece was made by the lovely Kris at Fusion Flowers - Where floral designs come to life.

The atmosphere was amazing & exciting all rolled into one and we were so honoured to be asked to join the event for the 2nd year!

As it was Essex Fashion Week we wanted to incorporate our 5ft candy trees into the fashion theme.

The lovely girls from Love Cupcakes also provided their famous cookies which looked lovely and went down a storm.

Lily Sunshine also provided mini cupcakes, which were yummy!.

Jeff Brazier - The Host of Catwalk and an amazing job he did too

Nanny Pat from 'The Only Way Is Essex' Said her grandchildren would love our Candy Buffet .... ha-ha

We were delighted when Harry Derbridge from 'The Only Way Is Essex' posed for press pictures with our Candy Buffet.

I also supplied our popular pom-pom trees on the tables in the VIP tables ready for the after party also our bespoke 6ft pom-pom trees for each side of the catwalk they are all colour coordinated in black & silver and looked amazing.

So as Essex Fashion Week after party was in full swing and everyone was enjoying themselves with the sounds from Heartless Crew.

Also KIG (Heads, Shoulder, Knees & Toes) was so lovely to watch them perform live and catch up with them.

We managed to catch up with a couple of celebrities who were impressed with our work and loved what we did.  It was also lovely & refreshing to be recognized from celebrities who remembered us from the previous Essex Fashion Week and knew all about us at Haley Jane Events.

'A Week in the Life of...' Sam Osborne Illustrations - Day Five

As the week draws to a close we sadly have to say goodbye to this weeks guest blogger.  However not before we receive another great post from the lovely Sam Osborne Illustrations.

"For the final day on the Ice The Cake blog I’d like to share a couple of my favourite bespoke wedding stationery designs with you. I love this part of my job, getting to know the bride and groom, hear about their story, their plans and ideas. Each couple is different so each wedding is different and I really enjoy being able to help all my clients create the unique and special day they are after.

Often the Save The Date or the Invitation is the first hint guests have of the kind of day being planned and they help set the tone for everything to follow. Clear, clever design can help the day run smoothly – by making sure everyone knows what’s happening and where they should be. It can help set a tone – by being fun or formal, and can communicate to guests how much you appreciate them being there.

I’ve chosen two of my favourites here which showcase the wide variety of styles and personality. As with all my bespoke wedding stationery work, I worked very closely with the bride and groom during each of these projects - from the first conversations about themes of the day, venues, colours etc where I form my brief, right through to the card and paper used, types of envelopes, bindings and arranging a delivery schedule that means no one is panicking the day before the wedding that the menus haven’t arrived!

Brightly-coloured wedding

When I first spoke to Jenny (the bride) about her vision for her wedding she told me that she was basing her colour scheme on the balloons from the film Up! Well I was over the moon - bright colours are right up my street and Jenny and Michael were up for having some fun with the design and the format. So I presented them with 3 possible routes, all full of energy and rainbow colours and they chose the brightest and boldest of the lot! Hoorah. We also had quite a lot of fun with the format of the invitation. Invites can be tricky and sometimes cumbersome because there is a lot of information to give to people beyond the date and time, so we combined it all into one large sheet. One side was a big poster giving the full running order for the day while the other side, when folded, created a booklet with hotel information, information of things in the local area to see and do the day after, rsvp information and of course the invite itself.

Vintage Through The Ages

Being an event organiser by trade Michelle had a very clear idea of how she wanted her wedding to be. She had collected enough vintage crockery for 100 people at the sit down picnic dinner and spent her weekends looking for props like old typewriters, record players and lamps that she planned to use around the beautiful venue they had chosen. It meant that there were a lot of eclectic style going on and this would need to be managed to create a look that held together. We selected a range of vintage styles that Jodie and Michelle liked and picked fonts and styles to match these then made sure the whole thing hung together with a soft pastel colour scheme and bespoke designed lace borders. The ‘one the day’ items pushed this creativity to the max with the table plan being made out of a vintage suitcase with table names designed to look like beer mats!

If you are interested in my bespoke wedding services visit my website www.sam-osborne.co.uk to find out more. From there you can get in touch with me and we can have a chat about how I can help you and costs, timing etc."

Thank you Sam for sharing so many lovely designs and ideas this week. xx
